The Challenge
Developing a Robust Strategy Paper
The client, a renowned global logistics company, took on a major project to support a middle eastern nation in achieving its goals outlined in a 10-year strategic development plan. As part of the larger development framework, the logistics company was responsible for developing the logistics strategy.Β
The main task involved developing a strategy paper with a recap on the current performance and a strong value proposition for strategies moving forward. As a result, the client sought the support of two logistics consultants to join their existing project team.
Role of Consultport
Consultport proposed 5 strong consultant profiles within 48 hours. The client interviewed 4 candidates and selected an ex-BCG consultant and an ex-Simon Kucher consultant. Both consultants possessed extensive project experiences developing logistics strategies. The consultants started working with the project team a week after the initial request.
Approach
Comprehensive Assessment of Current Status
The consultants reviewed the current strategic proposals, assessed gaps to be addressed and defined crucial milestones to be achieved.
To gain further understanding of the industry landscape within the region, the consultants engaged in several primary research activities, including surveys, interviews, and expert calls. The research findings highlighted the countryβs current logistics capacity and made supply chain forecasts for a 10-year timeline.
Solution
Well-Crafted Strategy Paper
Collaborating closely with the client and officials from the middle eastern nation, the consultants developed the strategy paper with an engaging value proposition to build up the nationβs logistics infrastructure. In addition, strategic initiatives were proposed to reach milestones, narrow existing gaps and develop the infrastructure to meet the increasing demands.Β Β
