The Challenge
Validate & Implement Smart City Plan
The client, an IoT solution provider, took on a smart city project with the end-client, a growing metropolis in the Middle East. The project consisted of five digital workstreams, and the client sought support of a digital strategy consultant to validate and implement one of the workstreams âUrban Mobility and Transportation.â
Role of Consultport

Approach
Revising Strategic Plan
The consultant first engaged in discussions with senior management of the client to gain a clear understanding of the region’s strategic goals and expectations from the smart city plan. Afterward, he analyzed the current smart city plan to evaluate strategy alignment and feasibility for implementation.Â
Collaborating with the client, the consultant produced a refined version of the strategic plan to align the âUrban Mobility and Transportationâ workstream to the smart city plan.

Implementation Roadmap
Based on the revised strategic plan, the consultant developed a robust roadmap for several smart city initiatives. For instance, to enhance urban mobility, the team implemented an intelligent traffic management system. Through the deployment of smart sensors and the use of data analytics to monitor traffic flow, practitioners could identify congestion points and optimize signal timings in real time.
