As a Founder’s Associate at Consultport, you work closely with the founders on strategic and operational projects, managing cross-functional projects and driving business growth. This position offers hands-on experience in scaling a startup, ideal if you are ready to take ownership and make an impact.
Anna-Eléonore Liédot joined Consultport in January 2022 as a Business Development Intern and became a Founder Associate. In this article, she shares her experiences, learnings, and excitement for what’s ahead!
What’s your background, and how did you first get introduced to Consultport?
I grew up in the French academic system, attending a Classe Préparatoire before enrolling in the Master in Management (MiM) program at ESCP Business School, where I started to develop an interest in the consulting industry. I also had the opportunity to study across three amazing cities: Paris, Madrid, and Berlin, and I fell in love with Berlin during this time.
During the second year of my Master’s, I was looking for a fast-paced startup environment that combined management consulting and tech — that’s how I came across Consultport. I immediately loved Consultport’s vision to disrupt the consulting industry.
Can you tell us about the role you started with at Consultport and how it shaped your journey here?
Before becoming a Founder’s Associate, I actually started as a Business Development Intern, focusing on developing the French market and being the key account manager of a major French client. It was a hands-on role that taught me so much about the consulting industry and how to deliver value to clients.
What excited me the most was that I was actively contributing from day one, researching new opportunities, building relationships with clients, and speaking with both top-tier management consultants and corporate managers on eye level.
How have your responsibilities evolved from internship to Founder’s Associate?
Over time, my responsibilities shifted from client-facing business development to more strategic, internal project management. Now, I work directly with our CEO on a variety of projects—from aligning with his vision to managing timelines and budgets for the most promising initiatives.
It’s been exciting to take on more ownership and see how my work directly impacts the company’s growth. The scope of my role has broadened significantly, and every day presents new challenges that push me to grow!
What key skills or knowledge have you developed during your three years at Consultport?
The mix of skills I’ve developed here is something I’m really proud of. On the technical side, I’ve worked on marketing projects, diving deep into areas like SEO, SEM, web design, and web development. On the soft skills side, I’ve learned the importance of clear, direct communication—especially when working with remote teams. Managing people across different time zones with tight deadlines has taught me to be adaptable and efficient.
Can you share a project as a Founder’s Associate that impacted your professional growth?
One project that stands out is the creation of Consultport’s referral program, which enables consultants to refer companies in their network in exchange for an attractive incentive. I was responsible for the research phase, launch, and promotion of the program, which has been a comprehensive learning experience.
I started with competitor analysis to design the best possible program. Then I worked closely with the tech team to implement the necessary features on Consultport’s platform and website. Finally, I led a promotional campaign to ensure its success. Seeing sales coming from something I built is incredibly fulfilling. It’s projects like this that show me how much I’ve grown since my start as a Founder’s Associate!
What do you find most rewarding about being a Founder’s Associate, and how has it challenged you?
The most rewarding part is seeing the tangible impact of my work. Whether it’s sales from the referral program or the success of a marketing campaign, it’s amazing to see the results of your efforts. At the same time, the role challenges me to think critically, juggle multiple priorities, and constantly adapt to new situations. It’s not easy, but that’s what makes it so exciting.
What excites you most about Consultport’s vision and your role in contributing to it?
What excites me most is the opportunity to disrupt a traditional, well-established industry. The idea of building the #1 platform for consultants worldwide is both ambitious and inspiring. The combination of technology, innovation, and the idea of always seeing the impact of my initiatives keeps me motivated every day. Knowing that my work plays a part in driving this vision forward is incredibly fulfilling!
What advice would you give to someone considering the Founder’s Associate role at Consultport?
If you’re thinking about this role, my biggest advice is to embrace ownership. This isn’t the kind of job where you’re told what to do every step of the way—you’ll need to take initiative, think independently, and push your projects forward. It’s demanding, but the rewards are worth it. Be ready to learn a lot, grow quickly, and make a real impact.
Where do you see yourself in the next few years, and how does your experience at Consultport align with your career aspirations?
In the next few years, I see myself continuing to work in marketing and project management. My experience at Consultport has given me the tools and confidence to tackle ambitious goals, and I’m excited to see where this journey takes me. Whatever the future holds, I know that my time here is preparing me to take on new challenges and opportunities – and always with enthusiasm and determination!
