Samuele Deidda joined Consultport in June 2024 as a Marketing Intern and was recently promoted as Marketing Growth Associate. In this interview, he shares his experience, learnings, and how his role contributes to Consultport’s marketing efforts.

Can you tell us about your background and what led you to pursue a Marketing Associate role at Consultport?

Sure! I studied at Bocconi University in Milan, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree and I participated in an exchange program at St. Gallen University in Switzerland. During my studies, I worked as a Business Development Intern at a real estate holding company in Rome. These experiences gave me a business understanding and practical experience in business strategy and client relations.

Later, I was accepted into the CEMS MiM Program, with Bocconi as my home school and HEC Paris as my host school. This experience helped me gain an international perspective and meet people from different cultures. As part of my CEMS curriculum, I needed an international internship to graduate, and I was looking into the consulting industry, in a fast-moving, international environment, and Consultport’s business model stood out to me. It combines consulting industry and digital platform businesses, which I find exciting. Also, Berlin’s multicultural and dynamic environment is a perfect fit for me.

What does a typical day look like? Can you walk us through your key tasks and responsibilities?

My day as Marketing Associate revolves around driving growth through content and data-driven marketing. I create lead magnets like blog articles, industry reports, and business strategy guides to attract C-suite and strategy executives. I also focus on organic SEO optimization, working with different tools like WordPress to manage website content or Semrush to improve search rankings.

Furthermore, I’ve also worked in performance marketing, particularly LinkedIn Ads, to reach target audiences effectively. Data plays a big role in my daily work, and it is essential to track key marketing metrics using Google Analytics and Looker Studio to measure campaign performance and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, I manage B2B email campaigns, designing and sending newsletters that support our growth goals. Collaboration is key, as I work closely with the tech, marketing, and BD teams to align strategies and optimize results.

What skills have you developed or strengthened since joining Consultport, and how have they impacted your professional growth?

Working as Marketing Associate has helped me develop a well-rounded set of skills. On the technical side, I’ve gained hands-on experience with digital marketing tools, focusing on areas like content creation, SEO, and data analysis.

I’ve also improved my content creation skills, learning how to write for a B2B audience and create materials that attract the right target, like C-level executives. In addition, I’ve gained practical experience with SEO and performance marketing, especially managing LinkedIn Ads.

Most importantly, I’ve become more adaptable: I’ve become better at managing projects and handling tight deadlines, which has improved my time management. Working with different teams has also helped me develop clear and effective communication skills.

Can you share a project you’ve worked on that you’re particularly proud of as Marketing Associate?

One project I’m particularly proud of is our content marketing and SEO growth initiative. After just three months, we managed to double our organic traffic! I was proud to see that over 10 of the articles I worked on are now ranking in the top 10 search results for key industry-related terms on Google.

What’s even more rewarding is seeing the direct impact of my work. The resources I developed—such as industry reports and business strategy guides—have been downloaded by CEOs and top executives! It’s incredibly motivating to know that my contributions are helping to increase Consultport’s visibility and attract decision-makers from top companies.

What do you find most rewarding about working as a Marketing Associate at Consultport, and what are some challenges you’ve overcome?

The most rewarding part of working in marketing at Consultport is seeing the direct impact of my work. Compared to a big company, here you can directly see the impact of your work on the company’s numbers, and it’s satisfying to know my efforts contribute to the company’s growth.

One of the challenges I’ve faced as Marketing Associate is navigating the fast-paced environment, where priorities can shift quickly. Managing multiple projects while ensuring consistent quality required me to improve my time management and adaptability. Overcoming this has made my work more effective and helped me grow both professionally and personally.

How would you describe Consultport’s company culture, and how does it support your personal and professional development?

My advice is to be proactive and ready to take ownership from day one. The role requires curiosity, a willingness to learn quickly, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment. It’s a great opportunity to build a strong foundation in marketing, and it has definitely helped me develop skills that will be valuable for my future career, wherever that may lead.
